National Tourism Awards finalists announced and we are listed twice
The Celtic Manor Resort, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, Zipworld and the Abergavenny Food Festival will all be competing in the National Tourism Awards for Wales 2015, as the finalists from across Wales are revealed.
The awards, which are run by Visit Wales, recognise the best in Welsh tourism and include categories such as Best Place to Stay, Best Place to Eat, Best Day Out, Best Event, Best Visitor Welcome, Tourism Skills Development, Best Business Tourism and the new Rising Star category, which recognises those who are up and coming in the industry.
As well as well-known names such as Cardiff International White Water Centre, Wales Rally GB, Venue Cymru, Llanerch Vineyard, Llangoed Hall and Ynyshir Hall, there is also recognition for smaller businesses including Corris Craft Centre in Mid Wales and Scamperholidays in Llanelli.
Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Ken Skates, said: “The calibre of entries this year was really superb and I know the judges had a very hard time narrowing down the finalists. We can be very proud in Wales to have such high quality tourism businesses. It is a real achievement to become finalists from the hundreds of entries that we had.”
The awards, which are run in commercial partnership with Quadrant Media & Communications in Cardiff, will be held on Wednesday 25 March 2015 at The Vale Resort in Hensol, where the winners of Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards will be announced during the awards ceremony and dinner. The last awards, held in Venue Cymru in Llandudno, saw over 500 businesses attend on the night.
